@IcedEarth426 Stygian comes from the Ancient Greek work Styx, which was the river leading to the land of the dead (ruled by Hades). The dead souls would reach the land of the dead by crossing the river, with a boat which was steered by Charon (that's why at one part the lyrics go: the henchman [Charon] awaits you, yes that's right step aboard). Iced Earth have to be one of the most underrated metal bands there is. Barlow is freaking amazing. I know I'm going to get heat from this comment. When I first started listening to this band I thought they had the potential of being as big as Metallica. If Metallica ever needed a new singer, Barlow would be a perfect fit. Not that this ever going to happen.

stygian is ancient greek for styx(which is why theres some lyrics such as" the river styx is calling your number") and "travel" is the verb form(like travel around europe), so it's travel in the river styx basically

@duvall375 yeh i know what those words mean, and infact in english stygian means anything to do with the river styx, and in inferno by dante they see a stygian lake. But like i said grammatically it still doesn't make sense to me, though lyrically its a great and understandable song.
